Current conditions overview

    Light to moderate trade winds will persist through this weekend, then increase early next week. Remnant tropical moisture is expected to bring periods of heavier showers, particularly over the windward waters this weekend. Hurricane Lane, currently about 1280 nm east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii, may bring tropical storm conditions to waters south of the Big Island beginning around Tuesday of next week.

The Pailolo channel is between West Maui and Molokai. If you are staying at Maui Sands, it is the water right out front.

  • TONIGHT: East winds 20 knots. Wind waves 2 feet or less. Scattered showers.
  • SATURDAY: East winds 20 knots. Wind waves 2 feet or less. Numerous heavy showers in the morning, then scattered heavy showers in the afternoon.
  • SATURDAY NIGHT: East winds 20 knots. Wind waves 3 feet. Numerous heavy showers in the evening, then scattered heavy showers after midnight.
  • SUNDAY: East winds 20 knots. Wind waves 4 feet. Numerous heavy showers in the morning, then scattered heavy showers in the afternoon.
